Back in 1994 I bought a Fender Deluxe Precision Bass Plus Made in USA. I bought that Fender while I still lived in Honolulu, Hawaii. I still own that electric bass guitar today even though I have been living in Okinawa, Japan since the year 2000.

So, now, my special Fender Bass guitar is 25 years old. I wonder if that's old enough to be considered as a vintage guitar.

My 1994 Fender Deluxe Precision Bass Plus is quite different from other Precision basses or P-basses.

For example, it doesn't have a pickguard. By the way it still has its original sunburst finish, which is remarkably beautiful.

Plus, the neck of this bass guitar is more of a Jazz Bass feel instead of the larger P-bass shaped. Therefore, it's easy to play this bass.

Also, the pickups are Lace Sensor in a PJ (Precision-Jazz) configuration. These pickups are active. These pickups and all of the electronics are original.

This bass also includes all of its original Fender hardware. As an example, the tuning machines, the bridge, and the neckplate are all labeled with the Fender authentic logo.

This particular Fender USA Deluxe Precision Bass Plus is incredibly rare meaning identical guitars in their original construction are certainly hard to find.

I read online that the Fender American Precision Bass Plus Deluxe replaced this model. However, it seems that these newer versions all have pickguards.

I think many bass guitarists would agree that a Fender Bass without a pickguard looks stunning and is certainly unique.

I still have this guitar's original Fender-branded hardcase.

I use this electric bass guitar as my standard when comparing or checking out other bass guitars.
