2019 Merry Christmas Party - LIFE Jr. College English Department (英語) Special Event -Okinawa, Japan

Late in December 2019, the English Department (英語) at Senmon Gakkou LIFE Jr. College (専門学校ライフジュニアカレッジ) hosted its annual Merry Christmas Party (メリークリスマスパーティー) during English Communication Class.

I have been hosting Christmas parties in my English classes here in Okinawa, Japan for nearly 20 years. There are many reasons to have a Christmas party. First of all, it is an opportunity to share a foreign culture with students who have never experienced Christmas in their own country. Second of all, having a Christmas party is a wonderful to build friendships and fellowship. Thirdly, the students at Senmon Gakkou LIFE Jr. College study very hard everyday, so having some fun motivates them to continue their studies.

2019 was no exception. There were lots of Christmas decorations, a couple of Christmas trees, Christmas music, Christmas games, Christmas gifts, and a bunch of Christmas cheer. Much appreciation to the entire English Department staff for helping to make this year's Merry Christmas Party another successful event at Senmon Gakkou LIFE Jr. College.

I have been working at Senmon Gakkou LIFE Jr. College in 2015. I am employed as the English Department Chief, a Teacher of English as a Foreign Language (TEFL), the Study Abroad Coordinator (English-speaking countries), an academic adviser (Homeroom Teacher), Public Relations, Marketing, Event Planner, and so forth. However, I have been teaching English in Okinawa, Japan since the year 2001.
