My lovely wife, Izumi Pickard, is a public high school teacher here in Okinawa Prefecture, Japan. Currently, she teaches at Itoman Senior High School in Itoman City, which is south of Naha City where we reside.
Today, the Itoman High School Baseball Team has an important baseball game. They are in the Elite 8 (Best 8) of the Okinawa Prefectural High School Baseball Championship Tournament. And, my wife is going to Cellular Stadium in Naha City to cheer for Itoman High School not only because she is a teacher there but also because Itoman High School is her alma mater. Izumi grew up in Itoman City and also graduated from Itoman High School.
