My name is Mark Pickard. I am an American from Honolulu, Hawaii. However, I have been living in Okinawa, Japan since the year 2000. I am a permanent resident of Japan. My wife is a Japanese national; we have an international marriage. Together we have two wonderful children. We also have some pets.

I work full-time as a teacher of English as a foreign language (TEFL) at vocational college LIFE Jr. College. During my career as an English teacher in Japan I have taught English to literally thousands of Japanese students.

At LIFE Jr. College, in addition to teaching Japanese students I also teach English to many students who have come to Japan from other countries such as Vietnam, China, Indonesia, the Philippines, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Mongolia, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, New Caledonia, and elsewhere. I love living my life as an English teacher in Okinawa, Japan.

LIFE Jr. College is an accredited two-year post-secondary academic institution located in Naha City. Naha City is the capital of Okinawa Prefecture. Okinawa is the southernmost prefecture in all of Japan. At LIFE Jr. College, I am also coordinate the study abroad programs, update the college's official website and social networking sites, recruit new students, design promotional materials, organize annual events, and much more.
