Final English Classes

Today is Friday, February 3rd, 2018, and it is the final day of final exams at LIFE Jr. College. Next week will be the final week of classes, when we teachers are required to return the results of the final exams to the students.

By the way, the academic term here in Japan is 15 weeks long including final exams, which is unlike a semester, which runs for 16 weeks.

Usually in every one of my English language classes, my students and I make a plan to do something fun and/or interesting. This is especially true with my 2nd year (sophomore) students.

My students and I decided on walking from our school, LIFE Jr. College, to Subway sandwich restaurant and T's Style Coffee cafe, which are very nearby. We enjoyed a special English "Walking and Talking" Class while also enjoying some delicious food and drinks. Students at LIFE Jr. College study hard every day, so - as a teacher - why not create an enjoyable experience for the students? I think it is a great way to end the academic year.

I really enjoyed being the English teacher for these students, and I will never forget them. Besides teaching them the English language I hope I was able to also teach them about living a positive lifestyle.

I am a faculty member at LIFE Jr. College. LIFE Jr. College is a two-year vocational college. LIFE Jr. College is located in Naha City, which is the capital of Okinawa Prefecture. Okinawa Prefecture is the southernmost prefecture in Japan. Besides teaching the English language I coordinator the study abroad programs.
