Today is February 9th. Here in Japan February 9 is called Niku No Hi (肉の日; Meat Day in English). February is the second month of the year and the number two in Japanese is "Ni". The number nine is Japanese is "Kyu" and often "Ku". Plus the Japanese word for meat is "niku".
Happy Meat Day (肉の日) in Japan!
Many restaurants such as steakhouses have steaks and other meat dishes at a discount on Niku No Hi. I plan to eat a steak today.
Here are some photos of the steak I ate last year on NikuNoHi. I went to a restaurant called Mr. Mike here in Naha City, Okinawa Prefecture, Japan. That restaurant and many other restaurants are located nearby to my workplace.
