English Class: Practicing English Syllables using English Haiku traditional Japanese form of poetry | Mark's English マークの英語 | Okinawa, Japan

I like incorporating a variety of lessons and activities in my English language classes. One such activity is writing English Haiku.

Haiku is a traditional form of poetry in Japan. The Haiku format is relatively simple to understand. In Haiku there are three lines. The first has five syllables (or sounds). However, the second line of the Haiku has seven syllables or sounds. While the third line of each Haiku has five syllables/sounds.
